Two artists from the Northern Sound region are among three Irish women who have been invited to participate in $€X¥ Gstaad, a new art exhibition in Switzerland.
$€X¥ Gstaad is the first exhibition by ArtsFemin, a group of feminist art curators and artists dedicated to empowering women in the art world.
Monaghan town’s Niamh O’Connor and Kingscourt’s Miriam Fitzgerald Juskova will join Dubliner Fran Halpin, and 52 other women from 35 countries at the event next weekend in the town of Gstaad, Switzerland.
Niamh O’Connor said she was “proud to represent Ireland alongside female artists from all over the world”.
Her piece is called “Safe House” and it honours women in all walks of life.
And Miriam Fitzgerald Juskova said her piece, “Endless Bravery”, reflects the challenges of leaving a concrete past behind and stepping into a new path of unwritten future.
