Two local women among winners at Irish Women’s Awards

Two local women were among those to take home awards at the Irish Women’s Awards last night. Well-known local entrepreneur Rita Shah has been crowned Ireland’s Business Woman of the Year. While Cathriona McConnell of Donaghmoyne GAA was rewared for her services to sport.

The first Irish Women’s Awards were held in Blanchardstown last night, with the aim of rewarding and recognising hard working women in their roles as entrepreneurs, professionals, civil servants and charity workers.

Hundreds attended the awards last night, which were hosted by Carrickmacross native Aideen Hand.
