Cavan were dealt a hammer blow nine points defeat to Tyrone in Healy, 1-15 to nine points this evening.
Cavan trailed eight points to four at half-time playing against a strong breeze but any hopes of a second half comeback were quashed when Killian Clarke was sent off for a second yellow card in the first minute of the second half.
Tyrone’s found the net in the 51st minute through full-forward Peter Harte after substitute Darren McCurry broke through the defence.
The move set up Harte to score his second goal in a week after hitting the net against Monaghan last week.
The move roots Cavan to the bottom of the table and gives added importance to their derby meeting with Monaghan next Saturday.
