Urgent calls to place Rockcorry to Doapey Road on Winter Frost Gritting Programme

Urgent calls have been issued by members of the Ballybay Clones MD to place the Rockcorry to Doapey Road on the Winter Frost Gritting Programme.

It was highlighted by Councillor Richard Truell that the road is particularly dangerous and given its vicinity to a number of schools needs attention during wintery conditions.

This was supported by Councillor Seamus Coyle who then proposed that the road be added to the programme due to the large amounts of traffic using it on a daily basis.

The motion was passed however, it was stressed the cost of gritting roads in the county is high and the council can only grit 100 kilometres of local roads making the salting the Rockcorry to Doapey road unlikely.
