Waterford Priests didn’t receive Christmas pay because of Diocese shortfall

Waterford and Lismore Diocese was unable to pay its Priests in recent months and had to borrow from Parish funds. It’s after a drop in the amount of money raised in the regular church collections.

A survey by The Irish Catholic newspaper in 2016 showed Priests in the Diocese of Clogher were the highest paid in the country, with a top salary of just under €34,000.
