Work on Gate House II in Castleblayney is due to start next month.
In January it was confirmed at a Monaghan County Council meeting that they had secured rural regeneration funding for the project.
There were some questions raised as to why this was prioritised over the Market House in the town, however, additional funding has also been allocated towards that project recently.

When renovated Gate Lodge II will be the new home of the town library as well as a new gallery and public space.
The news has been welcomed locally, and councillor for the area Aoife McCooey told Shannonside Northern Sound that she is happy with the progress on both projects:
