Works begin on the Dunancory Bridge after 'years of tireless work'

Rehabilitation works have commenced on the Dunancory Bridge in Virginia.

Local Councillor TP O'Reilly said the works are long overdue and come after tireless work from councillors past and present.

As part of the upgrades, it’ll be made wider to better accommodate pedestrians and vehicles.

The bridge had previously been described by a former councillor as the worst stretch of road between Ballyjamesduff and Moscow.

TP O’Reilly said it was local people who’ve helped make the project a reality.
