Shane O'Farrell lost his life when he was hit by a car on the N2 between Carrickmacross and Castleblayney in August 2011. The 23 year old was cycling his bike at the time and the driver of the car was on bail at the time of the incident. Shane's mother Lucia met with the Taoiseach last Friday - in an attempt to get a Commission of Investigation set up into his death.
