Local councillor highlights concerns over e-sooter/e-bike usage. A local councillor has called on Monaghan County Council to adopt a road safety plan derived from Donegal County Council.
According to Cllr Niamh McCooey, this motion was first muted by Donegal County Council; it's about taking a stand on road safety.
Furthermore, the local councillor said the non-wearing of high visibility vests and correct lighting etc is putting lives at risk.
Moreover, Cllr McCooey said electric scooters have become a major problem for motorists. Indeed, especially in rural areas of Co Monaghan.
Cllr McCooey says this is an important life or death issue that needs to highlighted and continued to be highlighted until people get the message. She has been speaking to Ronan Gargan about her most recent calls.
