Gaynor French is to the fore of the national conversation on voluntary assisted death (VAD).
The mother of three who lives in County Roscommon was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. The very next day she organised her funeral and wrote down her requests for the service. All that information is enclosed in an envelope the family will open when she has passed away. She has also created memory boxes for children with letters, photos and books.
On today's Joe Finnegan Show she told us ''VAD would be my choice. It might not be yours and I respect that for you but I want that respect back''
Gaynor also told us that it's a conversation ''we don't talk about until we are terminal as we don't want to talk about death''
