A public meeting tonight is expected to hear anger over plans to amalgamate two west Cavan schools. It's the second such meeting held since the plans were announced in November, with some in Bawnboy and Belturbet bitterly opposed.
The Cavan-Monaghan ETB plans to close Saint Bricin's College and Saint Mogue's College and merge them in a new school to be built in Ballyconnell. A meeting in Bawnboy in December heard plans for a full public opposition campaign.
