James Morrisroe is the local representative for the Northern Sound Region on policing, and is currently on his way to attend the GRA conference that is taking place in Kerry.
A number of issues are set to be discussed at this conference especially with the recent spate of ATM thefts, gang related crimes, and a need for the regional supports and forces to evolve.
Among some of the key issues is the idea of increased armed forces for the border region. The current armed forces units that service the whole region are based in Louth and Donegal which causes problems for many counties when it comes to response rates.
