This time of year Agricultural Shows throughout the country are taking place. At each of these shows there are a number of classes for cattle and the calf handling classes have become very popular among female handlers.
The Williamson family are dairy farmers from Monaghan and they spend much of their free time preparing for these shows with some of their herd. It is a real family affair with all three of Trevor Williamson's daughters competing around the country as well as internationally.
Rebekah, Sarah, and Hannah have all be competing in since they were as young as 4 and now eldest daughter Rebekah has been chosen to travel to Belgium this year as part of the Irish Team to compete against other young European handlers.
Our reporter Sheila Naughton paid a visit to their farm and as well as being taught how to show a calf herself also heard about what goes into these competitions and preparing for them. You can hear the full interview here:
