X Factor's Mary Byrne pays tribute to Liam Payne. Former One Direction star Liam Payne has died at the age of 31. The father of one reportedly fell from the balcony of a hotel in Argentina. He had been staying in the hotel with his girlfriend. The reason Liam was in Argentina, it is reported, was to see his former band mate and Mullingar man Niall Horan. Indeed, Niall played in the capital two weeks ago.
Reports suggest Mr Payne had been acting erratically leading up to his death. Jodie Curran spoke with singer Mary Byrne who was on the X Factor alongside Liam Payne and his One Directions bandmates back in 2010. She asked Mary what her thoughts were when she first heard the sad news:
