Monaghan County Council granted planning permission for 45 houses in Q1 of 2026.
That's according to data released by the CSO this month (June 10th).
Of those houses granted, 39 were one-off houses, and six were multi development houses.
According to the CSO, in those multi developments, there are 74 units being built.
The County Council also granted planning permission for 8 apartments.
The average floor unit for the one off houses was recorded as 265.4 metres squared, and multi development houses averaged 85.8 metres squared.
CSO date reported that all houses averaged 147.8 metres squared, and apartments were 76.7 metres squared.
Nationally, There was a decrease of 1.0% in the total number of dwelling units approved in Q1 2026 when compared with Q1 2025.
Houses accounted for 61% of all dwelling units granted planning permission in Q1 2026, while apartments made up the remaining 39%.
In Q1 2026, the number of apartments granted planning permission fell by 2.7% when compared with Q1 2025, while the total number of house approvals remained static.
