Gardaí investigating an assault that occurred in Killeshandra, Co. Cavan in the early hours of Sunday morning are appealing for witnesses.
Emergency services were alerted to a young man found unresponsive on Main Street in Killeshandra at approximately 1:30am on Sunday morning last.
The man, aged in his 20s, was brought to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

A technical examination of the scene has been conducted by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing at this time.
