Members of the Ballybay-Clones MD will meet with Bus Éireann over school transport issues.
According to Cllr Sean Gilliland, it's a case of "postcode lottery" every August when it comes to securing a ticket.
He told Northern Sound of an experience were three members of the same family went to secondary school in Castleblayney from the Lough Egish area.
Two of them were in receipt of school transport tickets and the third wasn't.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Gilliland said this is "not acceptable," adding that issues like this have been going on for far too long.
He warned that students should not be left behind without school transport every year.
Cllr Gilliland has called on Bus Eireann to put in place a system that will mitigate such issues ahead of the next school year: "Ballybay-Clones MD wrote to Bus Éireann to secure a meeting with Siobhan Griffin, Transport Manager of Bus Éireann to put in place a system that will mitigate those issues and problems arsing for the next school year.
"I know it's early in the year but you don't find the time going round and it takes time to get things sorted out hence why we're looing for a meeting. Bus Éireann has confirmed that they will meet us in due course so we're just keeping the pressure on to ensure that will happen."
