A local councillor has continued her calls for the improvement of public transport in rural communities, particularly when it comes to a local link service for both Smithboro and Rockcorry.
Cllr Sinead Flynn said while it's encouraging to have received assurances that Smithboro will be covered under the local link service, it is "unfortunate" that it has faced delays due to a number of reasons.
The local representative said she understands the frustration felt by local communities.
Despite this, it's important to remind people that both Smithboro and Rockcorry remain part of the connecting Ireland programme and a commitment is there for services to cover those areas.
Cllr Flynn also asked for a local link service to cover the Ballybay to Carrick area via Lough Egish.
