Local TD Cathy Bennett has raised her concerns over the failure to reinstate an advanced paramedic car for the people of Monaghan.
Deputy Bennett said it was brought to her attention that ambulance staff in Monaghan are operating without an advanced paramedic car.
As a result, this has caused delays in handovers and ambulance personnel feeling "over worked" and "burnt out."
Deputy Bennett raised the issue with Taoiseach Micheál Martin and outlined instances over the years which involved young boys who were seriously injured at football matches and who waited upwards of three hours for ambulances.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Bennett said she hopes Micheál Martin has taken her comments on board and realises the significance of having the 24/7 paramedic card back in action.
She believes the failure to reinstate a 24/7 advanced paramedic car is a clear failure of responsibility to the people of Monaghan.
