A Cavan auctioneer has spoken about her love for the lifestyle that comes with the profession.
Lisa Keenan of Kingscourt Mart is one of the only female livestock auctioneers in Ireland.
As well as selling the livestock, Lisa is also the manager of the mart.
Lisa said she was born and raised in the life, as her father was into the marts from the get-go.
Following her father's death in 2005, Lisa and her mother were faced with the task of re-establishing the mart.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Lisa talked about that time.
"I suppose, it was up to us to make it work or not work and we kind of tore up the script and just decided to do things our own way. I supposeafter that kind of pushed on and we've seen huge gains and huge increases in stock numbers. My dad passed away in 2005, so probably 2007, 2008 things started to turn numbers-wise. It's grown from there and we've kind of turned it into a mart that we enjoy and just love. It's very enjoyable."
