A Cavan business is set to export locally produced beef to supermarkets across Europe.
This follows a new €7.5 million supply deal between Liffey Meats in Cavan and Lidl.
The agreement will see Irish steaks produced in Cavan sold in Lidl stores in up to 26 European countries.
The promotion will feature cuts including Angus fillet, rib-eye and sirloin in markets such as Germany, France and Italy.
It will bring Lidl's annual exports of Irish beef to around €35 million euro.
The retailer says the deal increases its total contract value with Irish beef suppliers to €100 million euro.
Liffey Meats has partnered with Lidl for more than 20 years and is its largest Irish beef supplier.
This announcement follows Lidl Ireland's broader procurement of more than €2 billion in Irish goods and services last year, which included a record €404 million in Irish agri-food exports.
