A local Senator has branded the decision for families in Cavan to travel further away from home for speech and language therapies as 'stupid'.
Senator Joe O'Reilly raised concerns that parents in Bailieborough, Shercock, and Mullagh are now having to travel to Cavan Town for appointments.
Speaking in the Seanad yesterday, he says families are left languishing on waiting lists, as well as having to travel when they do eventually get a session.
He also highlighted that some families are unable to get transport and risk losing their slot as a result.
Addressing the Health Minister, the Fine Gael Senator described moving services further away as 'mind-bogglingly stupid'.
