A Cavan senator has raised concerns at Cavan County Council's pausing of housing adaptation grant applications.
The local authority is currently not taking new applications for the various adaptation grants due to high demand.
The Council are processing current applications in order of priority.
Sinn Féin Senator Pauline Tully says the grants are vital to enable elderly people and those with additional needs to live comfortably at home,.
Speaking in the Seanad today, she gave the example of a local woman in her 80s, who now cannot apply to have an accessible shower installed.
