A Cavan Senator has raised concerns about delays in home care for people with disabilities.
Pauline Tully raised the issue in the Seanad this week.
She highlighted the case of a woman in County Cavan who uses a wheelchair and has been waiting months for home support.
The Sinn Féin woman said the delay is putting significant pressure on the patient's family, particularly her sister, who works full time.
Speaking in the Seanad Senator Tully warned that many others are also affected, unable to leave hospitals or nursing homes due to a lack of home care services.
