Garda Aidan Maguire who is based in Castlebayney says you need to be visible to show you are human like everyone else.
Aidan says who need to be someone with whom the public can discuss everyday occurrences and build up a strong and supportive relationship.

The local Garda says if you are not out and about in the community then you are not showing residents a level of extra safety.
He says you will also be trusted with people's concerns and worries.
Garda Maguire says the unique location of Blayney to the border and the large rural area that the station covers leaves the job extra difficult and this is where the community play a crucial role.
