Médecins Sans Frontières says the extent and nature of the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is 'very concerning'.
The group is deploying medical and logistics teams to affected areas, while medical supplies and equipment are being sent from Kinshasa, Uganda and Europe.
So far, there have been over 600 suspected cases and 139 suspected deaths, but numbers are believed to be far greater.
This strain of the Ebola virus has no vaccine or treatment.
Dónal Gorman, Communications and Advocacy Manager with MSF, says the full extent of the outbreak is unknown.
