A local councillor has highlighted his fears that older people are being "excluded" in Co Monaghan.
Speaking at a recent sitting of the Local Community Safety Partnership, Cllr Noel Keelan stated there is a whole cohort of older people who are being cut out of public services.
According to the Sinn Fein representative, recent studies found that 50% of people over the age of 75 are not computer literate.
He said many older people are afraid of going online, particularly due to an increase in fraud.
Many also do not know how to access online services, which he claims is extremely problematic when it comes to purchasing bus tickets and accessing grants.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Keelan said it's important that our older generation is being taken care of as social inclusion is so important in Monaghan:
