There are currently 81 council homes vacant in Cavan.
That's according to a breakdown published in the Sunday Independent yesterday. Monaghan had the lowest number of vacant council properties in the country at 6.
According to the data, Monaghan County Council is the only local authority that complies with moving tenants into council homes within 10 to 15 weeks.

While it takes up to 46 weeks for Cavan County Council to move tenants into homes belonging to them in the county.
Currently the local authority in Cavan has 3,056 properties, 2,327 which are owned by them and 729 which they lease. In Monaghan the local authority owns 1,897 and lease 13 properties.
