The design phase of a new community hub for Emyvale has gone to tender.
The new hub is set to make use of a former pub located on the main street. Monaghan County Council's tender is seeking to appoint an architectural design team, including quantity surveyors, architects, and civil/structural engineers. They will be tasked with completing designs, public consultations, and construction tender documents for redevelopment works of the existing building known as "Red Boy's". The former pub is located on the main street in Emyvale. According to the tender documents, the Emyvale Community hub was identified through expressions of interest from local community representatives. The premises known as "Red Boy’s" is in a prime location, at the southern entrance to the village, and the building was purchased with this in mind. The purchase of the building adjacent to the Mountain Water River and the Mill Race, in tandem with the evolvement of the community Hub concept, is described as a significantly positive directional step for the village community. The project is centred around the Emyvale Community Plan, and the team selected for the tender must also engage with local groups to ensure the hub is designed around the needs of them.
The contract is set to last for 6 months, and submissions close on the 22nd of July.
