Figures for e-scooter fines issued in the Louth, Cavan and Monaghan Garda division have been revealed.
The information was released by Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan in response to a parliamentary question from Deputy Mark Ward.
Deputy Ward asked for the number of fines issued for non-compliance of the Road Traffic (Electric Scooters) Regulations, for the years 2024, 2025 and 2026 to date.
In response, Minister O'Callaghan confirmed that 86 fixed charge notices were issued in the Louth, Cavan and Monaghan division between May 2024 and April this year.
Nationally, Gardaí issued 1,694 fines for e-scooter offences during the same period.
