The funding will go towards river conveyance blockages, and the extension of the scale of the OPW's flood mitigation works.

There has been €120,000 allocated for drainage projects across the Northern Sound region.
It comes as Minister of State with responsibility for the OPW, Kevin 'Boxer' Moran announced he is allocating a once-off €3m to local authorities.

The funding will go towards river conveyance blockages, and the extension of the scale of the OPW's flood mitigation works.
Monaghan County Council has been allocated €50,000, while Cavan County Council has been allocated €70,000.
The OPW Minor Works Scheme has been available since 2009, and is part of the Government's response to managing flood risk.
Speaking to Northern Sound, local TD Brendan Smith highlighted the need for a change in the funding schemes for local authorities.
