Figures for small business uptake of the Energy Efficiency Grant in Cavan and Monaghan have been revealed.
The information was given by the Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Alan Dillon, in response to a parliamentary question from Deputy John Paul O'Shea.
Deputy O'Shea had asked for details on the number of SMEs availing of the scheme by county between 2023 and 2026 to date, as well as any plans to improve access or increase grant support.
In response, Minister Dillon confirmed that in Cavan, approvals increased from 0 in 2023 to 10 in 2024, 22 in 2025 and 7 in 2026 to date.
In Monaghan, figures show 5 approvals in 2023, rising to 11 in 2024, 25 in 2025 and 12 so far in 2026.
The Minister said the scheme is for assisting small businesses to implement the recommendations of a Green for Business scheme and better manage their energy usage and long term costs.
