Fine Gael issue statement after former councillor jailed over theft charges

The 44 year old was jailed for 3 years and 9 months with that final 12 months suspended.

The Fine Gael party say they are shocked by Sean McKiernan's actions and the serious offences he committed.

In a statement issued to Northern Sound News, the party said as described by the judge, Mr McKiernan's actions were a serious breach of trust.

These serious crimes have resulted in Navan Mental Health Housing Association LTD having to cease its activities.

The 44 year old was jailed for 3 years and 9 months with that final 12 months suspended over the theft of 172,000 euro from Navan Mental Health Housing Association LTD.
