A local TD says the lack of refuge spaces for victims of domestic violence in Cavan and Monaghan is 'not good enough.'
Cathy Bennett raised the issue at the Dáil yesterday, as Jenny's Law is set to be enacted today.
The law, named after Jennifer Poole who was murdered by her partner in Finglas, will ensure that convictions for serious domestic violence offences are made public.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that the processing times for cases of domestic violence across Monaghan and Cavan District Courts averaged 14 and a half weeks.
