Lidl in Cavan celebrates selling €17m lotto ticket

The winner is advised to stay calm and sign the back of their ticket.

There were huge celebrations to be heard today in the Creighan area, just outside of Cavan Town, as the local Lidl was revealed as the selling location of Friday night’s €17 million jackpot winning ticket.

The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Lidl Cavan.

The win marks the second Irish EuroMillions jackpot win of 2025 following the €250 million jackpot win in June.

In recent weeks, another National Lottery player in Cavan also became a millionaire after scooping the top prize of €1 million in the 2pm Daily Million draw on 30th November.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Eimear O’Sullivan, Corporate Affairs Director, Lidl Ireland said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to have sold the winning ticket to a Lidl customer, and just before Christmas too. We’re urging any Lidl customers who shopped with us on Friday to be sure to check their tickets as they could be in store for a very Happy Christmas this year."

The winner is advised to stay calm and sign the back of their ticket. They should make contact with our Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] and arrangements will be made for them to visit Lottery Headquarters to collect their life-changing prize.
