Local fire crews are offering aid to the Northern Ireland Fire Service as they tackle a three mile gorse fire close to the Monaghan/Tyrone border.
Emergency crews are currently in attendance of approximately 3 miles of gorse on fire in Ballagh Road, Clogher, Co.Tyrone.
Fire crews received the initial call at 12.51pm yesterday afternoon.
There are currently 15 Fire Appliances and approximately 80 Firefighters in attendance.
Monaghan Fire Service has collaborated with the Northern Ireland Fire Service in recent days to assist in the response to this significant gorse
fire. Monaghan Fire Service have also deployed to a number of isolated gorse incidents in the wider Bragan area and will continue to monitor over the coming days during this dry weather period.
Fire crews are advising those who live in the Clogher and Fivemiletown vicinity, to please keep your windows and doors closed.
With a weather warning for wildfire in place, they are reminding the public to adhere to fire safety advice and to please stay vigilant to fire in the countryside.
