A Cavan Councillor has called for a full update and presentation from Children's Health Ireland on the National Children's Hospital.
Shane P O'Reilly raised the issue at the most recent meeting of Cavan County Council.
His comments come as the hospital faces repeated delays and soaring costs, with the project now approaching its 20th delay.
Cllr O'Reilly praised the work of staff at Crumlin and Temple Street hospitals, describing them as heroes, but said the delays and budget overruns are frustrating for both staff and the public.
Speaking to Northern Sound, he said he wants to see a transparent and constructive update from CHI to ensure the hospital can become fully operational and deliver the care children urgently need.
