A Cavan County Councillor says visible garda presence is very important for people feeling safe in their communities.
John Paul Feeley was speaking about concerns around visible policing and public confidence in law enforcement.
He noted that he believes there is a greater visible presence, as there has been a slight increase in garda numbers.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning he emphasised the importance of the relationship between gardai and communities.
Councillor Feeley also spoke on repeat offenders and suggested that further changes to bail laws may need to be considered.
