A local Sinn Fein Councillor says Sinn Fein has a number of potentially excellent presidential candidate within the party.
Colm Carthy was speaking as Sinn Fein is expected to confirm tomorrow if it will be running its own candidate.
Independent Catherine Connolly, who has gotten the backing of Labour, the Soc Dems and Solidarity PBP, had been hoping the party would also support her.

Cllr Carthy said he can't confirm which direction the party will go, but said either way Sinn Fein will play a role in the campaign.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, he outlined the party's main focus.
