Local diner owner says businesses are struggling

Sean says local businesses have been forced to absorb price increases, and it's a scramble to keep their head above water

A Cavan diner owner has spoken out about the impact price increases are having on his business.

Sean Igoe from Seans Diner in Cootehill, was reacting to reports the lower 9 per cent rate is making a comeback, but government is considering pushing out its implementation until July next year.

Sean says local businesses have been forced to absorb price increases, and it's a scramble to keep their head above water.

Sean's Diner has had to stop doing carvery lunch due to prices and has had to let employees go.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Sean outlined the predicament local businesses are in when it comes to increasing their prices.
