A local Senator has called for answers around recent incidents in Cavan General Hospital.
Pauline Tully spoke in the Seanad this morning, highlighting two recent cases where she says patients were failed.
The separate cases, one involving a 12-year-old boy and another one involving 20-year-old student who allegedly suffered severe complications after delayed surgeries and ruptured appendixes.
She says both patients experienced pain, delays in treatment and repeated hospital admissions to deal with the aftermath.
She wants enquiries made and a proper investigation done to be, to establish where the issue is.
Senator Tully criticised the absence of the Health Minister in the Seanad chamber this morning.
