A local TD has welcomed the reinstating of licences for farmers to burn green waste.
The previous exemption lapsed at the start of the year, as local authorities weren’t issuing the required permits.
The exemption allows farmers to burn uncontaminated wood, trees, trimming, leaves and bushes from September and February.
