A man has been further remanded in jail in connection to an investigation into the assault of a Garda in County Monaghan.
24-year-old Vincentas Miksta of Riverview, Ballinode, Co Monaghan appeared before a special sitting of Trim District Court on Saturday and was further remanded in jail following an appearance at Monaghan District Court this morning.
He faces five charges that includes the alleged assault of a Garda last Thursday outside the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Tullycorbet.
The charges include section 3 assault causing serious harm, misuse of drugs, sale and supply of cocaine along with attempting to escape from Gardai and the obstruction of a Garda.
Mr Miksta appeared by video link in front of Judge Raymond Finnegan and was further remanded to appear again next Monday the 27th of April at Monaghan District Court.
