Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred in Killeshandra, Co. Cavan in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services were alerted to a male found unresponsive on Main Street in Killeshandra at approximately 1:30am.
The male, aged in his 20s, was brought to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

A technical examination of the scene has been conducted by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit. Investigations are ongoing.
