The Minister for Foreign Affairs say a delay in publication of a report expected last year is disappointing.
Helen McEntee was speaking in response to a parliamentary question put forward by Shane Moynihan in relation to the state's ongoing request for full disclosure and access to all relevant documents concerning the Dublin Monaghan Bombings.
The bombings took place on 17th May 1974, in those intervening 52 years families have sought the truth of what happened to their loved ones on that day.
The 52nd anniversary of the Dublin Monaghan bombings took place recently.
The Government has long-standing requests in place to allow access by an independent, international figure to all original documents held by the British Government relating to the Dublin and Monaghan bombings.
Minister McEntee raised the Dublin Monaghan bombings with Secretary of State, Hilary Benn, at the BIIGC on 30th April.
She said the delay of the publication of the full report of the full report of Operation Denton, which was expected last year, is disappointing.
The report is a review of the Glenanne gang cases, including the Dublin Monaghan bombings and the delay in publication is due to legal proceeding currently underway in Northern Ireland.
The Minister said her department remains in regular contact the head of Operation Denton, and continue to follow up on the publication of the full report.
In her response she noted that "We hope the report can be published within a reasonable timeframe and that its findings may shed light on what happened on that awful day."
She also noted that the publication of the final report would help maintain momentum on the broader work on legacy particularly on the implementation of the Joint Framework agreed on last year by the two Governments.
Reciprocal co-operation is at the heart of the Joint Framework, which commits the British Government to provide "cooperation to Ireland for investigations, inquiries and inquests" in this jurisdiction.
Minister McEntee noted that it is her hope that once these measure are implemented it would help further shed light on the events of the 17 May 1974.
