Monaghan Fire Service attended two local incidents in the same number of days this week. And, the county's Chief Fire Officer says crews also dealt with three gorse fires in the county during the ongoing dry spell of weather.
On Sunday evening two fire brigades from Castleblayney and Ballybay attended a fire in a derelict house in 'Blayney. Fire Officer Brannigan told Northern Sound the fire was "likely the result of anti-social behaviour".
The following day, Monday, fire crews attended a boiler fire at Scoil na gCailíní. Both incidents were dealt with swiftly and there were no injuries. Mr Brannigan said his staff dealt with two gorse fires at Bragan Bog and another in the south of the county. He asked everyone to follow this advice (listen below):
