A Monaghan GP says she would be fully supportive of limiting access to sunbeds.
It comes as a number of organisations, including Melanoma Support Ireland, the Marie Keating foundation and the Irish College of GPs, have called for a blanket ban on sunbeds.
Dr Illona Duffy believes that people are unaware of the risks associated with sunbed use, despite the number of warnings out there.

She noted that that the rated of malignant melanoma are rising, with indications the rate of melanoma in Ireland could double by 2045.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, she noted how Australia has combated its rates of melanoma.
