A Monaghan man has been sharing his story and educating people about organ transplants.
It comes as the Irish Kidney Association is encouraging people to have conversations about their wishes when it comes to organ donation.
Noel Farrelly was born with only one kidney, and underwent an organ transplant after receiving a kidney from his sister 47 years ago.
His late sister Kathleen was found to be a perfect match and was happy to donate a kidney to her brother, five months after giving birth.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Noel said the donation gave him a new lease of life.
