The approved plans also will allow to increase its waste plastic intake by almost five times

A Co Monaghan based waste management firm has been given the go-ahead to retain and expand its 40,000sq ft facility.

The approved plans also will allow to increase its waste plastic intake by almost five times.

Enva Ireland Ltd had sought retention permission from Monaghan County Council for a weighbridge, expansion of a plastic film storage area and moveable retaining concrete ‘walls which surround its plastic film storage area at Losset, Carrickmacross.

A previous application was rejected for the waste management firm’s original application on noise and visual amenity concerns.

In a planning statement, Dublin based consultants John Spain Associates said its latest application clarified the extent of a plastic film storage area as well as measures to control and reduce visual impact concerns.

Similar retention has also been included for a weighbridge and excavator, the requirement for which Enva state has arisen through “normal waste processing” activities that are currently being carried out on site.

In a planning statement, local planners were told of how imperative its future expansion needs were in order to sustain its long-term future.

Monaghan County Council granted Enva planning permission subject to 11 conditions.
