A Monaghan woman has been appointed as the new Head of RTÉ Radio 1. Tara Campbell, who hails from Castleblayney, started her career in RTÉ as a freelance continuity announcer on Radio One before then becoming a producer.
She has been working as the managing editor of the station for five years and will now take up the role following the retirement of Peter Woods.
Speaking on her appointment, Tara says "it's an incredible honour" and that she's looking forward to the challenges ahead.
